Started in January 2006, his postings are supplemented with plenty of images/rich media and display a great passion for the subject. He&#8217;s currently running a series of posts covering <a title="20 travel and hospitality blogs" target="_blank" href="http://www.hotel-blogs.com/guillaume_thevenot/20_blogs_i_like/index.html">20 travel and hospitality blogs</a>, each including a short Q and A with the blog authors themselves. Plenty of coverage and thoughts about <a title="View travel advertising examples" target="_blank" href="http://www.hotel-blogs.com/guillaume_thevenot/advertising/index.html">online and offline advertising examples</a>.</p>

I plan to use it as a place to post observations, analysis and links about design and digital marketing in the travel and tourism industry. I expect the nature of the posts to be a real mix, given the size of the sector itself. <a title="Visit page" target="_blank" href="http://www.culture.gov.uk/what_we_do/Tourism/tourism_industry/">According to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport approximately 127,000 businesses</a> in the United Kingdom are involved in the tourism industry.</p>
<p>Here are a couple of website links that discuss online marketing in travel and tourism.</p>
<p><a target="_blank" title="Visit Travolution" href="http://travolution.blogspot.com/"><img align="right" id="image3" alt="Department of Culture, Media and Sport" title="Department of Culture, Media and Sport" src="http://dottourism.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/logo-travolution.thumbnail.jpg" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Link to The Travolution Blog" target="_blank" href="http://travolution.blogspot.com/">The Travolution Blog</a> &#8211; A regularly updated blog to supplement the bi-monthly publication, Travolution. Obviously concentrating on the travel sector, with a recent concentration of posts regards airline carriers and holiday operators the lion share of the posts are by Kevin May, the magazine&#8217;s editor (The blog posts when an online version of their magazine is available to view &#8211; the <a target="_blank" title="View October edition of Travolution" href="http://redigitaleditions.com/ActiveMagazine/welcome/twe/travolutions0610.asp">October edition is now available</a>).</p>
<p><a target="_blank" title="Visit Radar" href="http://www.radaron.com/"><img align="right" id="image3" alt="Department of Culture, Media and Sport" title="Department of Culture, Media and Sport" src="http://dottourism.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/logo-radar.thumbnail.jpg" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Visit the Radar blog" target="_blank" href="http://www.radaron.com/">The RADAR Blog</a> &#8211; Updated by a French blogger in Quebec to discuss internet strategy for tourism businesses. Started earlier in 2006 Mathieu provides insights and tips for those wishing to promote their tourism business online. Enjoyed his post about the <a title="Read post" target="_blank" href="http://www.radaron.com/2006/03/16/the-changing-role-of-sales-people/">changing role of sales people</a>.</p>
